Mike Pearson discusses a storm that left millions of acres of corn, wheat, sugar beets and soybeans under water in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska.

Record breaking amounts of water fell causing rapid flooding, as much as 15 inches of rain fell causing residents to be evacuated with helicopters and roads flooded.

The trouble had been brewing for a few weeks as storms had left the subsoil with 92 percent moisture in most of the region and storms during this June had left many creeks and rivers with flooding.

Major interstates were flooded and smaller roads were destroyed by the huge amounts of rainfall, first in South Dakota and then other states.

The focus is now on the Missouri River as all of the water that has fallen in the area is now headed.
