South Carolina cattlemen's convention set for March 3

The South Carolina Cattlemen’s Association will hold its annual convention and trade show on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Clemson Edisto Research and Education Center in Blackville, S.C. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the trade show opens at 9:00 a.m.

This promises to be an informative and educational day. Currently scheduled seminar topics cover “Source and Age Verification — Resources and Opportunities,” “Future of Forage Finished Beef,” “Composition and Attributes of Forage Fed Beef,” “Forage Systems — Creating a Complete System,” “Optimizing Beef Cow Efficiency,” and “Managing Rising Production Costs in Purebred and Commercial Operations.”

There will also be an update from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

A hamburger lunch will be served at noon and a prime rib supper will finish out the day.

The SCCA annual business meeting will be held following the educational programs. The Association will elect its new directors.

If anyone is interested in serving as a director of the SCCA, please inform the SCCA state office so the names can be submitted to the nominating committee for consideration. Nominations can also be made from the floor during the annual business meeting.
