You hear about high-yielding dryland wheat, well the folks at Colorado State University Extension are hosting wheat variety test plot meetings Tuesday, Aug. 30 and will discuss trial results that produced up to 100 bushel-per-acre yields. And they'll discuss the results at other sites in the university tests.

The informational meetings will make available the 2016 Collaborative On Farm Trial results from near 20 on-farm trials conducted in Colorado during the 2016 season. The meetings will focus on wheat production with both dryland and irrigated results being shared.

Want to learn about 100-bushel-per-acre wheat? Head to one of two wheat meetings set for Aug. 30 - one in the morning at the Washington County Events Center; the other at the Burlington Community Center.

There are two meetings - the first is at the Washington County Events Center from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 30; then the same program will be held from 2 to 3:30 at the Burlington Community Center the same day.

Jerry Johnson, CSU crops testing specialist will discuss the 2016 Colorado results, including the location that averaged 100 bushels per acre. In addition, Scott Haley, CSU wheat breeder, will discuss the wheat breeding program, new wheat varieties and wheat breeding program priorities. In addition, Rick Novak, CSU seed specialist cover the topic "do we need to treat our seed?"

This is a jam-packed meeting with a lot of wheat information, make plans to attend one of the events.
