Two companies have partnered to develop new planting technology that aims to improve the precision and control of row crop planters and expand crop management capabilities for farmers.

The Kinze Vision system is based on the Ag Leader Insight display with touch screen control. It includes Tru Count air-actuated, single row clutches for manual or GPS auto-swath control to enable growers to engage and disengage individual planter sections at headlands, point rows, waterways or previously planted areas. In addition, growers will be able to track their planting operations by mapping and recording hybrids and varieties (including split planter configurations).

In addition to the planting functionality, Kinze Vision will be imbedded with other Ag Leader Insight functions, including dry and liquid product application and harvest monitoring/mapping. Current Ag Leader Insight owners will be able to interface with compatible Kinze electronic seed sensors (hardware retrofit kit required).

Kinze Vision is the first in a series of new planter innovations Kinze will launch within the next 18 months. Kinze Vision will be available on selected models effective with 2008 Kinze planter production.
