BASF SE is reported to be considering a counter bid for DuPont, Bloomberg Business reports. DuPont has agreed to a merger of equals with Dow Chemical Co.
The bid would be an attempt to break up the $110 billion merger, the Financial Times reported.
BASF is based in Germany and DuPont hasn’t been formally approached, Bloomberg reported.
BASF Corporation is the second largest producer and marketer of chemicals in North America, according to the company’s website.
