Get precision power

Walk through any farm show and you’ll come away impressed by how much more you can do with new precision farming software and hardware than you could the year before. Pretty soon it dawns on you that as far as precision farming goes, companies and farmers have only uncovered the tip of the iceberg.

Speaking of ice, here is some pretty cool stuff that’s new for the ag market. Learn more by contacting companies through the information listed along with the photo.

Look, Mom! No wires!

Farm Progress editors introduced the “Connected Farm” concept this summer. Farm Works provides the software that makes it possible to collect and send data wirelessly from the tractor or combine straight into the computer in the office. Called Sync, it’s all about wireless data transfer to and from the field. Contact Farm Works, Hamilton, Ind., at 800-225-2348 or visit

Cruizer interfaces with Digi-Star system

Cruizer and Cruizer II will now interface with Digi-Star’s scales and nutrient management system. Operators will be able to utilize GPS guidance, while monitoring application rates on-the-go by displaying tons-per-acre coverage on the screens. Suggested list price for Digi-Star Cruizer software is $1,695, plus $1,000 for an unlock code. Call Raven Industries, Sioux Falls, S.D., 800-243-5435 or visit

Cruizer II gives you more speed

The Cruizer II is a faster, more powerful version of the original Cruizer, yet still simple to set up and use. Cruizer II gives the grower the ability to load and save job files and A-B lines, and interfaces with Raven assisted steering and AccuBoom automatic section control using CANbus technology. For open air cabs, Cruizer II is available with a weather-resistant option to stand up to dust, water and other elements. Call Raven Industries, Sioux Falls, S.D., 800-243-5435 or visit

Aim for precision

Growers who have Slingshot can add more power to their precision practice by adding Slingshot Dashboard, also from Raven. Slingshot uses a wireless system to push records and jobs from the cab to the office and back again. The operator can locate all mobile units while in the office, provide remote support and can send out prescription maps. The cab modem works from cell towers so operators no longer have line-of-sight issues. Suggested list price for each field hub is $2,000. The subscription rate varies.
