Larned Cattleman Wins Beef Industry Vision Award

Lee Borck of Larned has received the feeding operation division 2009 Beef Industry Vision Awards , presented by the National Cattlemen's Foundation at its annual trade show last week in Phoenix.

Borck is president of Innovative Livestock Services and chairman of the board of the Beef Marketing Group cooperative. The business model encompasses fifteen independent feedyards located in Kansas and Nebraska.

Borck was president of KLA in 1992. He has served on the NCBA board, the Cattlemen's Beef Board and was president of CattleFax in 1994. He received the Kansas State University Medal of Excellence in 2007.

The Vision Award, sponsored by Micro Beef Technologies, recognizes individuals, businesses and organizations in the cattle industry that have incorporated innovation into their operation. It honors winners in all segments of the beef industry.
