Agricultural equipment manufacturer, AGCO, held its largest new equipment launch ever in Kansas City, Mo. this week.

The launch on Aug. 8 and 9 introduced 15 new models of equipment from combines to tractors to planters, mowers and windrowers.

Among the innovations unveiled was V-Cool, a new cooling system configuration that places the radiator and all cooling units for the air conditioner, hydraulic systems and air-to-air intercoolers in a V shape below a hydraulically driven, variable speed fan.

Prior designs have stacked cooling units one behind the other, resulting in problems with hot air from one unit being pulled into another or problems with debris collecting between units and interrupting air flow.

Massey Fergusons 9500 Series axial flow combine was one of 15 major introductions AGCO put in the market this week.

The V-Cool system also features a reverse thrust "purge" cycle in the top intake fan that reverses the fan and blasts away chaff or debris. It can be triggered when sensors detect reduced air flow, higher engine temperatures or reduced engine speed. It can also be manually operated or set to purge at timed intervals.

Several new products in the lineup also feature the AGCO Power diesel engine technology trademarked as e3 Selective Catalytic Reduction, a clean air technology that moves the exhaust reduction process outside the engine after combustion, resulting in an engine that runs cleaner and cooler without lost performance or fuel efficiency.

The new self-propelled WR9700 Hesston windrower also shared the spotlight at AGCOs unveiling of its 2012 lineup.
