New Executive Officers for Minnesota Agri-Growth

A 24-member board governs the organization's activities.

The Minnesota Agri-Growth Council, a nonpartisan advocacy organization for Minnesota's agriculture and food industry, approved its 2011 slate of executive officers for the board of directors at its January meeting.

A 24-member board governs the council, representing the diversity of Minnesota's food and agriculture industry, including ex-officio representation from leadership at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences.

The 2011 Agri-Growth Council Board of Directors are:

Executive Officers: chair, Kristin Weeks Duncanson, owner, Duncanson Growers; vice chair, Mike Zumwinkle, director, Government Relations, Cargill; secretary, Jim Winter, vice president of North American Agri Business, Ecolab; treasurer, Steven Krikava, director, Government Affairs, Land O' Lakes, Inc.; immediate past chair, Joe Swedberg, vice president, Legislative Affairs, Hormel Foods Corp.

Directors are Paul DeBriyn, AgStar Financial Services; Jim Bareksten, CHS Inc.; Al Anderson, retired; Jack Bernens, Syngenta Seeds, Inc.; Mark Davis, Davisco Foods; Randy Doyal, Al-Corn Clean Fuel; David Frederickson, MDA commissioner; Meg Freking, New Fashion Pork; Tim Gerlach, Minnesota Corn Growers Association; Roger Gilland, Gilland Feedlots Inc.; Mike Helgeson, Gold'n Plump Poultry; Jerry Larson, Larson Farms; Allen Levine, U-M CFANS dean; Pat Lunemann, MN Milk Producers Association and Twin Eagle Dairy; Adolph Ojard, Duluth Seaway Port Authority; Bill Reilly, Schwan's Food Company; Tom Rosen, Rosen's Diversified; Nick Sinner, Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association; Michael Swanson, Wells Fargo.

The Minnesota Agri-Growth Council (www.agrigrowth.org) is an advocate for the state's food and agriculture industry. Founded in 1968, the Council is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that represents the shared interests of its 200-plus members, which include food and agriculture businesses, organizations and producers, as well as the service industries that support them.
