Record-breaking drought put Georgia cotton growers to the test. Despite Mother Nature’s best effort, 11 Georgia cotton producers grew crops that brought loan premiums.
Those 11 cotton producers and the six gins that processed their lint were honored through the 3rd Annual Georgia Quality Cotton Awards. Awards are given in four areas of the state at three different farm sizes. No winner was named in the more than 1,000 acre size in Area 2, the northeast area of the state.
The Georgia Quality Cotton Awards are judged on loan value.
