WHEEL Employee English Learning Plan

Sonoma Farm Bureau and the Santa Rosa Chamber are providing free English learning for Ag employees.

Sonoma County Farm Bureau is partnering with the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce to provide an FREE English Learning Program for agricultural employees. The WHEEL Program is designed to increase English language skills.

This is a 9 week program beginning in January, through March. The WHEEL Program has produced benefits for past participants. Among those, benefits to employers: work safety, productivity, attendance, morale and less turnover. Benefits to employees: job fulfillment, self-confidence, enhanced home and community life.

The class will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Farm Bureau: 970 Piner Road in Santa Rosa.

Attendance in each of the classes is required to maximize the benefit of the program. The class will meet on January 7, 8, 14, 15, 22. February 11, 12, 19, 25, 26. March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19.

Participation in the WHEEL program gives your business an opportunity to improve your bottom line, as well as giving your employees an opportunity to engage more fully in our community. The Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce will customize a plan that will make the program work for your business.

Employees average a 15% gain in life skills and reading assessment during their first 8-week session of English classes.

Employees that participated in eight 8-week sessions increased their basic English skills 88.9%.
