Picture yourself on a welding calendar, that's right you could be part of the Victor Technologies 2014 calendar - the "Show Us Your Innovations" calendar. It's one of two contests the maker of cutting and gas control equipment is offering this year to celebrate its 100th anniversary of the brand. Students can get into the act too with an interesting challenge.
The Show Us Your Innovations calendar will have 12 users who have done something unique with Victor Technologies products to get the job done. This contest will aware 12 Victor Medalist 250 Cutting Outfits and one Grand Prize winner will also receive a Victor Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 42 plasma cutter. The winners will offer the best photos and associated captions for the entrant using any Victor or Victor Thermal Dynamics Cutting Equipment. Contest deadline is September 30.
A Cut Above is the student contest open to those in cutting, welding and related programs at secondary and post-secondary schools and the winner will receive more than $30,000 in equipment and cash prizes. Beginner students will write a 500-word essay supporting the contest theme, while advanced students will submit a team metal fabrication project that incorporates an oxy fuel, air-fuel or plasma cutting process. Contest deadline is October 30.
