Vegetable Expo: Pathways to a Prosperous Tommorrow

Twenty-second Annual Southeast Vegetable and Fruit Expo heads to Myrtle Beach in December.

For all those who want to learn about the production of fruits and vegetables, there is a one-stop destination this December. The Myrtle Beach Convention Center will serve as gathering headquarters for crop experts, marketers and growers alike during the 22nd Annual Southeast Vegetable and Fruit Expo.

Thomas Mack, vice president of Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. will be the keynote speaker. The theme of this year's two-day expo, Dec. 12-13, is "Pathways to a Prosperous Tomorrow." Programs include information on specialty and organic crop production, the use of high tunnel technology, marketing, labor availability, vine crops and much more.

Registration is $60 for the first person in a company or firm to register and it includes NCVGA membership, yearbook, lunch and banquet. For each additional registrant from the same company or firm the fee is $30.

The registration fee is $40 per person for educators, county agents and other state and federal agency representatives. Pre-registration deadline is Nov. 15 and after that date are subject to an additional fee.

The event is sponsored by the N.C. Vegetable Growers Association and the S. C. Fruit, Vegetable & Specialty Crop Association.
