USB Annual Meeting Dec. 10-11 in St. Louis

Challenges, opportunities to be addressed.

The United Soybean Board will hold its annual meeting Dec. 10-11 in St. Louis.
The 68 farmer-directors who make up the USB will evaluate the previous year's accomplishments and determine progress on soybean checkoff research and promotional programs.

Steve Sonka, professor emeritus and soybean-industry-endowed chair in agricultural strategy at the University of Illinois, will address major challenges facing U.S. soybean farmers and the rest of the industry.

Five panels will discuss technology to achieve yield increases; the U.S. poultry, livestock and aquaculture industries' ability to operate profitably; how the US can remain the preferred supplier of soy for exisiting and emerging markets; how to achieve acceptance of soybeans improved through the use of biotechnology in all markets; and how composition changes in US soybeans continue to meet customer needs.
