It was in April 2012 that Charles City, Iowa got a new tire factor when Mitas Tires North America opened its facility. To celebrate, the company is offering customers three new tire sizes in the SFT and AC85 ranges which are now available. According to a company release, Mitas reached total worldwide sales of $592 million in 2012 and North America represents 10% of that fiture.
The three new sizes introduced include a combine tire - 750/65R26 SFT - and two tractor sizes - 380/95R38 AC 85 and 480/95R50 AC 85. Manufactured in Charles City, these tires respond to the demand from original equipment manufacturers and the replacement tire market. Eventually Mitas will be making tire s up to 54-inches in diameter and 1,200 mm wide in the Iowa facility.
