Tom Rotello, chairman of he Texas Soybean Board and a farmer from Navasota, Texas announced the TSB upcoming election will be December 15, 2008.
Three farmer directors will be elected.
One will be from the High Plains, representing Andrews, Bailey, Briscoe, Castro, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Deaf Smith, Floyd, Gaines, Glasscock, Hockley, Howard, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Martin, Midland, Parmer, Swisher, Terry, and Yoakum counties.
Another will be from the Gulf Coast to represent Austin, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Orange, Waller and Wharton counties.
Also, one will be elected for Northeast Texas, covering Bowie, Delta, Fannin, Lamar, Red River, Grayson, Collin, Hunt, Hopkins, and Franklin.
Positions on the board are voluntary and must be held by producers.
The board meets two or three times a year at various locations in Texas. Travel, meals, and housing are provided at the meetings.
