As the Ohio soybean industry considers issues ranging from rising commodities prices to new uses for soy-based products, the upcoming Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums may prove to be one of the most enlightening planning events of the summer.
The Ohio Soybean Council is bringing together Ohio's soybean producers and industry representatives to discuss today's trends and tomorrow's opportunities in the soybean business. Notable industry experts will conduct presentations and panel discussions on topics ranging from agriculture and farm management to composition and new uses for soybeans.
In order to accommodate participants from around the state, the forums will be offered at two different locations, on two separate dates. There is no cost to attend the event for Ohio soybean producers, so why not make plans now to attend?
The first forum will be held at Owens County Community College in Findlay on Aug. 26, 2008.
A second forum will be conducted at Clark County Fairgrounds on Aug. 27, 2008.
According to John Lumpe, executive director of the Ohio Soybean Council, the 2008 Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums will be a different type of conference. "An interactive forum like this offers a unique opportunity for the industry and producers to come together," he says. "We're excited to see everyone sharing in a vision for the future."
A wealth of information will be addressed at the sessions says Chasitie Euler, of Monsanto. "The presentations and panel discussions will cover a wide range of important topics. Everyone will benefit from attending," she says.
The agenda for the day-long forum meeting is designed specifically with Ohio soybean producers in mind. The speakers include a range of industry professionals who bring extensive expertise and insight on topics ranging from risk management, finances and new marketing tools to soybean composition, future traits and challenges facing our industry.
"We look forward to seeing many Ohio soybean producers who are serious about planning for a successful future join us at the Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums," Lumpe says.
The 2008 Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums are sponsored by the Ohio Soybean Association, Ohio Soybean Council, United Soybean Board, ADM, ASGROW, Cargill, Bunge, Farm Credit Services of Mid-America, Monsanto, QualisoyTM, Soy 2020, VistiveTM, Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center and Pioneer/Dupont.
