New line of feeder boxes

Roto-Mix recently introduced a new type of feeder box that it has named the Ration Delivery Box. It does not blend the ration like a mixer. Instead it delivers the rations that have already been prepared in finish feed mills with minimum damage to fragile ingredients. It also provides superior control of delivery into the feed bunk.

The product was designed by Ben Neier and is intended to eventually replace the current line of Roto-mix feeder boxes.

The RDB utilizes a full width floor belt attached to a moving gate to gently yet accurately deliver the ration smoothly from the rear to a front-mounted chain and slat conveyor for discharge. The driver controls forward movement and unloading speed from the truck cab with two rheostat control dials. Unlike existing feeders, the RDB system includes safeguards that will not allow the driver to bring the ration forward faster that the conveyor is unloading it.

Each year, WKMA asks members of the organization to nominate members for the New Product of the Year Award to recognize the ingenuity and new product development that is an ongoing hallmark of Western Kansas Manufacturers.

The new RDB system utilizes the same basic body as Roto-Mix's existing compost and manure spreaders with a unique modular front assembly containing the conveyor and knock down beaters. Neier also developed a hydraulic module specific to the RDB.  The RDB utilizes existing patents in additional to new patents that are being applied for.  Roto-Mix plans to display the RDB as well as other products at the upcoming 3i SHOW July 11, 12 and 13.  For more information about Roto-Mix, visit the Roto-Mix website.
