Register sites that you want to protect from pesticides at the South Dakota Sensitive Sites Registry.
It's a web-based tool which can be used to help prevent drift damage.
The South Dakota Department of Agriculture creates this site to provide information about farms and ranches that would be adversely affected by accidental fertilizer or pesticide application or drift.
An applicator keeps pesticide on target by being aware sensitive crops and sites near the field.
Farmers and ranchers producing pesticide-sensitive crops and livestock are encouraged to register their sensitive production areas on this site. When a sensitive site producer registers a production area, an email is sent to each applicator who has registered on the site and operates in the area. Applicators can download a GPS file with the outline of all sensitive sites (including apiaries) in their service area.
This site is not intended for homeowners..
