Reappointments Made To The Michigan Beef Industry Commission

Commission administers the beef checkoff program which is designed to improve profitability.

Governor Rick Snyder recently announced the re-appointment of Tim Andrews, a cow/calf producer from Sault Ste. Marie; Dan Javor, a dairy farmer from Hastings; and Dale Oeschger, a cattle feeder from Bay Port, to the Michigan Beef Industry Commission. All terms expire May 31, 2015.

Andrews and his family own a cow-calf farm in the Upper Peninsula. He has been actively involved in the operation for nearly 30 years. Andrews serves as the secretary of the Commission. He received a degree in business administration from Lake Superior State University. 

Javor and his family operate Burdock Hill Dairy, LLC. and raises crops. He is treasurer of the Michigan Beef Industry Commission and a veteran of the United States Navy. In addition he serves as the state's veal representative on the National Cattlemen's Beef Association board of directors.

Oescgher and his family own and operate Lindale Farms where they have a feedlot and  raise crops. He serves as chairman of the Michigan Beef Industry Commission and is the beef representative on the National Cattlemen's Beef Association board of directors.

The commission administers the beef checkoff program which is designed to improve profitability by strengthening beef's position in the marketplace and by expanding consumer demand for beef. The beef checkoff funds programs in the areas of promotion, consumer information, industry information, foreign marketing and research on both the state and national levels.
