Finding a system to identify commodity marketing alternatives that will work for individual farms is now more important than ever.
In an effort to help, the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan (CMPM) and Michigan State University Extension (MSUE) are offering an online webinar series that will cover the basic Introductory Pricing/Marketing Workshop for Grains.
The online series will take place two nights a week for four weeks beginning February 3. The workshop will be taught by Jim Hilker, MSU Professor and MSU Extension Marketing Economist, who has been teaching this material to students and farmers for more than 30 years. Hilker, who has written the "Outlook" article in Michigan Farm News for more than 20 years, will help you better understand his and others' pricing comments.
You may attend this workshop at either several group meetings around the state, or at home on your computer. Registration for the workshop is required by February 1 so workshop handouts can be sent to participants prior to our first session. There is no cost for this workshop series for individuals that can download and print workshop materials.
Sessions will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on February 3 and 5; February 17 and 19; February 24 and 25; and March 3 and 5. Participants can register online at http://events.anr.msu.edu/MktHilker/
