Peanut growers, industry leaders, and researchers all will converge in Oklahoma March 14-15 for the 68th Annual Texas-Oklahoma Peanut Seed Quality Meeting and also the Oklahoma Peanut Expo.
Mike Kubicek, executive director of the Oklahoma Peanut Commission, Shawnee, says all events will be at the Quartz Mountain Resort, just 17 miles north of Altus, Okla., at Lone Wolf.

On Friday, March 15, the Seed Quality Breakfast is set for 7 a.m. in the Apache Room, sponsored by Bayer CropScience and hosted by Pam Worrell. Dr. Kelly Chamberlin, USDA Agricultural Research Service, Stillwater, will emcee the program that will include updates from both Texas' and Oklahoma representatives, Foundation Seed, state departments of agriculture, crop improvement, promotion boards, the United Peanut Alliance, chemical companies, and also shellers and growers.

Immediately after the Friday morning breakfast, the Oklahoma Peanut Expo will follow in the Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a great lineup of speakers on timely topics. The Expo will include a luncheon provided by the Southwest Shellers.
Kubicek said the theme of this year's Oklahoma Peanut Expo is "Building on Success."
Among the many speakers, Garrett King, of Oklahoma's 3rd District office for Congressman Frank Lucas will bring "Greetings from D.C." King will have the latest report on progress in farm policy negotiations in Washington. Lucas is chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture.
