A University of Illinois course, Advanced Dairy Management: Principles of Dairy Science, will be offered online beginning Sept. 8, said Mike Hutjens, U of I Extension dairy specialist and coordinator of the class.

"The class will cover calf and heifer management, business management, records, pasture systems, forages, facilities, nutrient management, genetics, and herd health," he said.

In addition to Hutjens, five other U of I personnel--Dick Wallace, Dave Fischer, Jim Endress, Roger Shanks, and Ed Ballard--will coordinate the class.

Lectures are recorded with a live Internet class held during the 10-week class on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. (CDT) Enrollees can participate for credit or non-credit. To review the class schedule, topics, and enrollment details go to: http://online.ansci.uiuc.edu.
