Colby Collins, President of the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska, recently announced the recipients of the 2012 - 2013 Husker Harvest Days Agricultural Scholarships.

Colby Collins, President of the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska, recently announced the recipients of the 2012 - 2013 Husker Harvest Days Agricultural Scholarships.

The winners were chosen from Nebraska high school seniors who will be pursuing advanced degrees in agriculture, agri-business or other agriculture related fields from an accredited university, college, or technical school in Nebraska.  The students selected have been active in high school activities, engaged in their respective communities and have maintained a high grade point average.

Here are brief biographies of this year's scholarship recipients:

* Nathan Bell graduated from Aurora High School and is attending the University of Nebraska- Kearney to study Wildlife Biology. He is the son of Rick and Diane Bell, Aurora.

* Johnathan Ference, a graduate of Ord High School, is attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln studying Agribusiness, Agronomy, and Agriculture Education. Johnathan is the son of David and Christie Ference, Ord.

* Paxton Folkerts is the son of Paul Folkerts and Angela Muller, Milford. After graduating from Milford High School, Paxton is attending the University of Nebraska- Lincoln studying Agricultural Economics.

* Casey Stangle graduated from Hemmingford High School and is studying Diversified Agriculture at the Northeast Community College to study Diversified Agriculture.  Casey is the son of Kenny and Linda Stangle, Hemingford.

* Dillan Line is the son of Darby and Annette Line, Miller.  After graduating from Sumner-Eddyville-Miller High School, Dillan is attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney studying Biology and Pre-Veterinary Science.

* Mark Lundeen graduated from Axtell Community School, and is attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to study Ag Business. Mark is the son of Brad and Deb Lundeen, Minden.

* Allison Myers is the daughter of Teresa and Larry Myers, Grand Island.  Allison graduated from Grand Island Northwest High School, and is attending the Northeast Community College and plans to study to be a Veterinary Technician.

* Erica Peterson graduated from Waverly High School and is attending the University of Nebraska- Lincoln studying Ag Journalism. She is the daughter of Tom and Paula Peterson, Waverly.

* Tyler Tomasek is the son of Steve and Billy Jo Tomasek, Hordville. He graduated from Central City High School and is attending Central Community College studying Agri-business.
