Intervet Inc. will provide a new vaccine for its Vista line with longer reproductive and respiratory durations of immunity (DOI). The vaccine targets Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) and Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD). The vaccine has shown a cell-mediated immune response for IBR, BVD Type 1 and 2 and BRSV.

"Producers can be assured that one vaccination will provide proven long-lasting protection against IBR and BVD," said Scott Nordstrom, Intervet Veterinary Services Manager.

USDA also approved Vista as tool to help prevent fetal infection. In a Friday press release, Intervet calls Vista "the only vaccine proven to provide fetal infection protection for the entire pregnancy."

Vista's new respiratory DOI for IBR is 182 days, 206 days for BVD Type 1 and 200 days for BVD Type 2; the reproductive DOI for IBR is 217 days, 206 days for BVD Type 1 and 112 days for BVD Type 2.

A single 2 mL dose of Vista is administered subcutaneously in the neck. Intervet also recommends annual revaccination.

Vista can be purchased through animal health stores or veterinarians. For more information about the vaccine, call Intervet at 1-800-441-8272 or visit www.intervetusa.com.
