The new 2720 Disk Ripper from John Deere sports an all new design and heavy-duty construction for a variety of tillage tasks.
The design of the new tillage tool sizes and buries crop residue, penetrates and shatters compacted soils, and mixes and levels the soil surface with greater efficiency.
The unique features of the 2720 include heavier C-springs and thicker gang tubes. The front disk gang angle is fixed at 18 degrees for maximum residue cutting and soil leveling from the ripper and back disk. The 2720 also uses Laser Rip II points in a variety of sizes to shatter hardpan from 8- to 15 inches. The rear disk gang can be set at 14 or 16 degrees depending upon soil and residue conditions. Optional rolling baskets behind the rear disks can be used to break up root balls and clods.
The 2720 comes in four widths: 12.5 feet, 17.5 feet, 22.5 feet and 27.5 feet. The two bigger models have three folding sections to provide easier transport from field to field.
