There's new herbicide technology on the horizon with a legacy of performance. Dow AgroSciences LLC announced today it has received approval for Enlist Duo herbicide with Colex-D technology from Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency. Canada is the first nation to give the nod to the new herbicide which is part of the Enlist Weed Control system combining traits, herbicides and stewardship to deliver weed control farmers need, according to a press statement.
Enlist Duo with Colex-D technology is designed to offer near-zero volatility and minimized potential drift at application. The product also offers enhanced handling characteristics through that Colex-D Technology. In addition, the technology is part of a complete crop stewardship system designed to promote responsible use of the Enlist system.
In a press statement, Stan Howell, vice president, North America, Dow AgroSciences, notes: "Managing hard-to-control and resistant weeds is one of the biggest problems farmers are facing, and Enlist is a solution they need to continue moving farming forward.
Enlist corn and soybean traits were approved for food, feed and environmental release by Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in October 2012. Today's announced registration for Enlist Duo herbicide completes the package of the Enlist Weed Control System. According to the release, Dow AgroSciences plans to "ramp up seed production and its supply of Enlist Duo herbicide with Colex-D Technology to support the anticipated Enlist launch. The company has stated it is aiming for a 2014 launch in key markets in past releases.
