New House Ag Committee Taking Shape

Subcommittee appointments have been made.

Frank Lucas, R-Okla., who will serve as Chairman of the House Ag Committee during the next Congress, has named six members to serve as Subcommittee Chairmen of the committee. Lucas also announced that Representative Bob Goodlatte of Virginia will serve as Vice Chairman of the full committee.

Subcommittee Chairs include Glenn Thompson of Pennsylvania, chair of Conservation, Energy, and Forestry; Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska, chair of Department Operations, Oversight, and Credit; Michael Conaway of Texas, chair of General Farm Commodities and Risk Management; Tom Rooney of Florida, chair of Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry; Jean Schmidt of Ohio, chair of Nutrition and Horticulture and Timothy Johnson of Illinois, chair of Rural Development, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture

Republicans returning to the House Agriculture Committee are: Frank Lucas of Oklahoma: Bob Goodlatte of Virginia; Timothy Johnson of Illinois: Steve King of Iowa: Randy Neugebauer of Texas; Michael Conaway of Texas: Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska; Jean Schmidt of Ohio; Glenn Thompson of Pennsylvania; and Tom Rooney of Florida.

New members of the House Ag Committee are: Rick Crawford of Arizona; Scott DesJarlais of Tennessee; Renee Elmers of North Carolina; Stephen Fincher of Tennessee; Bob Gibbs of Ohio; Chris Gibson of New York; Vicky Hartzler of Missouri; Tim Huelskamp of Kansas; Randy Hultgren of Illinois; Reid Ribble of Wisconsin; Martha Roby of Alabama; Bobby Schilling of Illinois; Austin Scott of Georgia; Steve Southerland of Florida; Marlin Stutzman of Indiana and Scott Tipton of Colorado.
