U.S. Farmers and Ranchers form to focus on consumers.

Published on: Oct 21, 2010
More than 60 representatives from more than 20 national food and ag organizations have joined to form a group to focus on enhancing U.S. consumer trust in modern food production.

The U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance represents a "start toward a unified voice for U.S. agriculture," says Rick Tolman, CEO of the National Corn Growers Association and chair of the group's steering committee. The formation of the group represents six months of planning, and is intended to begin the process of creating a coordinated effort by and on behalf of U.S. farmers and ranchers.

A board of directors will be established in November.
