NCSU Slates N.C. Cotton Field Day for September

Semi-annual field day features research plots and accreditation opportunities.

Published on: Sep 2, 2008

Every other summer Tarheel cotton growers are treated to an educational tour de force. The N.C. Cotton Field Day in Rocky Mount offers growers an invaluable experience, featuring field tours, crop discussions, outlook predictions and more.

Field tours will be ongoing from 1:30 p.m. until 5:30p.m. Some important topics will include weed and insect control, disease management, agronomics and tillage management.

A sponsored meal will be an obvious farmer draw. There will also be a drawing for the name of one lucky cotton producer who will win a $500 savings bond.

Pesticide and CCA credits will be available.

The event will be held Sept 10th at the Upper Coastal Plain Research Station near Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The address is 2811 Nobles Mill Road, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
