If you've dreamed of being recognized for your skills as a corn growers. If you know how to eek every last bushel from a prime piece of ground. It's time to enter the National Corn Yield Contest from the National Corn Growers Association and the online entry system opened this week to help make that a reality.

The online format allows farmers to submit all needed entry forms quickly and easily; and you can take advantage of special early entry discount at the same time. That early entry discount fee - $80 - is available until June 15. The organization reminds growers that a small time investment now saves money later this summer.

In the statement announcing the start of the online entry system, Dean Taylor, NCGA production and stewardship action team chair, says: "The online entry option makes taking advantage of the early entry discount easier than ever. We have seen many consecutive years of significant contest growth. With favorable conditions across much of the country, I encourage members to take advantage of the discount, use the easy online form and become part of the contest." He also notes the contest is just one reason for non-members to consider joining NCGA.

The online entry software allows growers to enter the contest and join NCGA and their state association. The Web-based system simplifies data submission, allows users to view their submissions at any time and will allow for quick, efficient use of contest data, according to the association.

Seed representatives and entrants are welcome to enter through this new platform. Current members should have their NCGA membership ID ready. Non-members wishing to participate can quickly fill out the online membership profile and enter immediately following completion of this form.
