MPCA, MSCA Host Feedlot Permit Meetings

Sessions will discuss the process and requirements to obtain permits for farms with more than 1,000 animal units.

Published on: Jul 17, 2013

Been thinking about starting or expanding your cattle operation, but are concerned about permitting requirements?

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota State Cattlemen's Association will be hosting a series of regional informational meetings where producers and others involved in the cattle business can learn more about the permitting process.

Farmers will have the opportunity to learn about the process and have questions answered directly by agency staff. The meetings will primarily focus on explaining the process and requirements to obtain a NPDES/SDS permit for cattle operations that will have more than 1,000 animal units.

Time permitting, agency staff also will field questions related to manure management plans, winter time feeding, backgrounding, pasture and open lots
