Monroe Tractor's Albany, N.Y., branch has reason to celebrate – before Christmas, even. In early November, the Albany location became only the fourth full-line Claas dealership in North America to include the Xerion tractor line.

On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the dealership will host a Kick-off Day at the store, says Tom Sutter, general manager of Monroe Tractor's ag division. The open house runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a noon lunch. It's located at 423 Old Loudon Road, Latham, N.Y.

All Claas products, including hay tools, forage harvesters, combines and the new Xerion tractor line will be offered, along with a fully trained service and parts staff, according to Branch Manager Josh Clark. "Providing a quality product like Claas coupled with a fully trained support team should have a big impact on the Hudson Valley farming community," he notes

Claas equipment will be on display, and Claas and Monroe product specialists will be available to discuss harvesting equipment needs. Check out the shop, its parts inventory and their mobile service capabilities.

Across New York State, Monroe Tractor has five agriculture only locations, three construction only locations and three locations that are both agriculture and construction.

What's a Xerion? Claas manufactures the Xerion tractor line in Europe and imports them to only four dealerships on this continent. A quick peek under the hood of the Xerion 5000 reveals an 12.5-liter Caterpillar diesel engine that puts out 524 maximum horsepower. With all-wheel steering, this 4WD tractor turns on a 49-foot-diameter "dime" and can run the road at speeds up to 31 miles per hour.
