Learn About Natural, Organic Beef Production

SDSU to hold value added cattle workshops in seven cities.

The South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service will host seven value-added beef production workshops beginning today.

Each workshop will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. local time.

The locations and dates include:

Extension specialists and educators, along with other livestock experts, will present information on organic and natural beef production requirements, along with production management and marketing alternatives associated with the conversion to organic or natural production. Topics include program differences, organic certification processes, herd health, forage systems, costs of production, budget and marketing, and risk management.

The meetings will include a lunch meal that costs a small fee. South Dakota State University, the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service, and the North Central Risk Management Education Center are organizing the events.
