KUHN Krause, Inc. says it plans to spend $5 million on a new high-bay building expansion at its Hutchinson, Kan., facility to boost its lean manufacturing efforts.

Groundbreaking for the 70,000 square-foot building is expected in April and final work on the project is expected by the end of 2012. The addition is to be equipped with all new manufacturing equipment.

Officials say the expansion will improve the company's manufacturing capacity and efficiency, and is part of a continued commitment by KUHN Group to build and distribute quality agricultural products in North America. More than 300 people work at the Hutchinson facility.
