Kioti, long known for its small to medium size tractors is introducing the Mechron 2200 4WD utility vehicle powered by a three-cylinder Daedong diesel engine. The machine is a proprietary Kioti product built on Korean assembly lines adjacent to those which turn out the Kioti tractors.
The 22 horsepower "transport vehicle" is capable of 25 miles per hour in the higher of its two forward speeds and moves its power through a constant velocity belt transmission geared through a mechanically-actuated 4WD arrangement. The Mechron has a 12-foot turning radius and sits a full foot off the ground at its lowest sprung point.
We found this prototype of Kioti's new Mechron 2200 4WD diesel utility vehicle at the Sunbelt Ag Expo this week in Moultrie, Ga. Kioti says the machine will be available in dealer show rooms shortly after January 1, 2010.
Towing capacity is 1,300 lbs. and total payload capacity is 1,600 lbs. The standard manual dump box bed is rated at 1,102 lbs. capacity, and a hydraulic lift is optional. The machine boasts analog gauges and optional hydraulic hose fittings.
Kioti lists the Mechron 2200 base model at $11,690.
