The next three Wheat district Seminars are scheduled for next week in Colby, Garden City, and Hutchinson. The seminars provide Kansas wheat producers with the opportunity to learn more as well as discuss and provide input into such issues at the development of the 2007 Farm Bill; the production of ethanol from wheat straw and other biomass materials; the Conservation Reserve program; and biotech wheat and the road ahead.
A BASF representative will also be on hand to discuss the latest information on seed treatments, fungicides and herbicides.
The Colby Seminar is set for Tuesday, February 27th, at the Colby Community Building, 285 East 5th Street in Colby; the Garden City meeting will be at the Meeting Room at the Finney County Fairgrounds, 417 Lake Avenue in Garden City; and the Hutchinson Seminar at the Grand Prairie Hotel and Convention Center, 1400 North Lorraine in Hutchinson. All three of the seminars will begin at 10:00 a.m., and continue until around 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be included.
Those producers planning to attend one of the seminars are asked to contact Kansas Wheat at 1-800-748-8034 or email email@example.com to provide a head-count for each of the seminar locations. There is no charge for those wheat producers who attend.
Besides Kansas Wheat, sponsors of these three Wheat District Seminars include BASF-the Chemical Company; Farm Credit of Central Kansas; Farm Credit of Western Kansas; and Farm Credit of Southwest Kansas.
