Kansas Global Trade Services Offering IP Protection Seminar

From the smallest invention to the complex systems of precision agriculture or robotronics, one of the biggest concerns of entrepreneurs in the global marketplace is the security of their intellectural property.

On Dec. 3, Kansas Global Trade Services will host a program designed to help those individuals and companies learn how to safeguard their IP assets in a daylong seminar titled,'Protecting Your Intellectual Property in the Global Marketplace.

Susan Anthony, Attorney, Global Intellectual Property Academy, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, will moderate the program, which will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cessna Employee Fitness Center at 6711 W. 31st Street South, in Wichita. Seminar attendees should use the southwest entrance to the building. 

The seminar, Protecting Your Intellectual Property in the Global Marketplace, will offer tools to help companies of all sizes in all industries develop a strategy to protect their intellectual property and expand their export sales and global business activities.

Seminar to cover important topics related to protecting IP assets

Among the topics of the day will be learning to identify the IP assets of a business, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyright; learning to protect IP assets both in the United States and in foreign countries; avoiding inadvertently exposing IP assets to theft from abroad or on the internet and learning how to use the many U.S. government and other resources that exist to help protect intellectual property.
