John Kappelman of Cedar Grove has joined the board of the Professional Dairy Producers Foundation. A former dairy producer, he is currently a consultant for Cereal Byproducts Company. Kappelman grew up on his family's farm in northeastern Wisconsin. He was general partner and farm manager of Meadow Brook Dairy Farms, LLC until 2009. In addition, Kappelman has done extensive work with foreign governments, agricultural ministries, and policy legislators in Moldova, Kosovo, and Iraq in multiple dairy advisory capacities. He has been active in the industry, including recent leadership roles with World Dairy Expo, USDA-ARS Dairy Forage Research Center, USAID Farmer to Farmer Program, University of Wisconsin, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Babcock Institute, and Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.

Logan Bower has begun his term as Chair of the Professional Dairy Producers Foundation. Bower is a third-generation dairy producer from Blain, Penn. He is active in the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania (PDMP), having served as president of the group from 2004 to 2008. He was Pennsylvania's representative on the industry-wide committee for the National Dairy Animal Well-Being Initiative. Bower's Pleasant View Farms includes 550 milking cows and 700 acres. He was recently recognized as Penn State's Dairy Science 2012 Distinguished Alumnus. In 2011, Bower received the Dairy Beef Quality Assurance Award from the Pennsylvania Beef Council.  He has served on the Professional Dairy Producers Foundation Board since 2010.

Rounding out the Foundation Board are: Linda Behling, Vita Plus, secretary-treasurer; Ellen Schaefer, Running Creek Farm; Ed Strauss, Majestic Crossing Dairy; Erica Pagel, Foremost Farms USA; Keith Engel, GEA Farm Technologies.
