The Illinois Beef Expo will welcome beef producers to its 20th annual cattle showcase at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The expo will kick off at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 with the 2008 Illinois Performance Tested Bull Sale in the Livestock Exposition Center. The sale includes a large number of 2 year old and yearling bulls, and the largest number of Simmentals – 43 - in recent history.
The four-day expo includes a trade and breed shows, a livestock equipment auction, cattle fitting clinic, junior shows, beef judging contests and a beef quiz bowl. A $3 admission fee will be charged on Sunday only for a junior steer and heifer show.
