The Illinois Beef Association is seeking nominations for the 2014 member awards program.
IBA presents four awards at the annual Summer Conference in June: Seedstock Breeder of the Year, Commercial Producer of the Year, Environmental Steward of the Year, and IBA Farm Family of the Year.
•The Seedstock Breeder of the Year award recognizes a beef producer who exemplifies integrity, leadership and success in the production and promotion of the purebred cattle industry.
•The Commercial Producer of the Year award recognizes a beef producer who exemplifies integrity, leaders and success in the production and promotion of the commercial cattle industry.
•The Environmental Steward of the Year award recognizes a beef producer whose natural resource stewardship practices protect the environment and contribute to productivity and profitability.
•The IBA Farm Family of the Year award recognizes a beef producer family who has done an outstanding job in the production and promotion of beef and exemplified leadership skills on the county and state level.
"Your nominations for the IBA member awards are critical to recognize those individuals who give their all to make our industry the best it can be," says Reid Blossom, IBA executive vice president. "This is an opportunity to recognize them both personally and professionally."
Nominations can be made for a producer's own operation or on behalf of another producer. Only current IBA members are eligible to win; nominations will be reviewed by the IBA Awards Committee. Applications are due March 14 and can be downloaded at www.illinoisbeef.com. Contact Jill Johnson at 217-787-4280 or email@example.com with questions.
