The annual KDUZ/KARP/KGLB Farm City Day Breakfast and Broadcast is Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 - 10 am at the McLeod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.

KDUZ sales rep and farm-city day organizer Lester Schuft says there will be a live band, lots of vendors, prizes, a free breakfast and an hour-long radio session with Greg Peterson of Rochester, also known as Machinery Pete. Schuft says that Peterson will be on the air from 8:30 to 9:30 am.

"I'll have a portable microphone and will roam the audience taking questions," he adds.

Last year, hard-working volunteers served more than 1,200 free breakfasts to the crowd. This year, the local FFA chapter will again help with the morning's events and serve breakfast.

Schuft started Farm City Day 19 years ago, holding the first event on a farm in a barn. As the event grew, the locations changed--from a barn, to a garage and now to the county fairgrounds.

"It all works real slick when you get all kinds of help," Schuft adds.
