Farm women from Sauk County and the surrounding area are invited to participate in the Heart of the Farm – Women in Agriculture conference to be held Friday, Feb. 6. This program provides farm women with the opportunity to network with other farm women and get answers on estate planning, organizing important farm papers, farmstead landscaping and managing in the new economy.
The conference begins at 9:15 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. and will be held at the West Square Administration Building Room B-30, 505 Broadway, Baraboo.
Topics and presenters include:
-- Estate Planning for Farm Businesses. Bill Greenhalgh, Attorney, Greenhalgh Legal Service, Baraboo.
-- Organizing Your Office Space and Managing Your Farm Records. Denise Brusveen, Agriculture Agent, Sauk County University of Wisconsin-Extension
-- Looking Past the Weeds. Phyllis Both, Horticulture Educator, Sauk County UW-Extension.
-- Price Volatility—Managing in a New Economy. Kevin Bernhardt, Farm Management Specialist, UW-Extension, UW-Platteville.
Heart of the Farm- Women in Agriculture conference series is a UW-Extension program that is committed to addressing the needs of farm women by providing education on farm business topics, connecting them with agricultural resources and creating support networks.
Pre-registration is $15 per person. Registrations are due by Jan. 30.
