Grassley Anticipates Senate Work on Biodiesel Tax Credit Will Start Soon

Likely tied to estate tax, which Senator says will take some time.

The soybean and biodiesel industries are still waiting on Congress to extend the biodiesel tax credit. Both have been impacted by the incentive's expiration on Dec. 31.

According to Ranking Member Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the Senate Finance Committee could act on the credit in the next two to three weeks. But he says it will likely take longer for it to work through the full Senate.

"I believe it will probably be tied to the estate tax legislation," Grassley said. "That's going to take some time to work that out, and get that out on the Senate floor, and it may even take some time on the Senate floor."
