Say, you're out harvesting wheat and the sun is quickly sinking down behind the trees. Sometimes you need a light to shine just where you want it. That is one application where the Golight line of halogen remote control searchlights can play an important role.

The Golight can automatically pivot 370 degrees horizontally and simultaneously rotate 135 degrees vertically, with both parameters commanded at a distance by remote control.

The lights come in models that are suitable for mounting on virtually anything that moves. That might be a tractor, a farm truck, an SUV, an all-terrain vehicle or a boat.

Diversity is the watchword with Golight. If you don't want these lights permanently mounted in the application for which you plan to use them, the company has portable models with suction cups or magnetic shoes. It offers both wireless and wired remotes and both come packaged with your choice of hand or dash mounted remote controls as well.

This line of lights is powerful. Golight says its standard model has a peak beam intensity of 225,000 candela, which means it can throw an 8 degree beam and cast a 25 Lux light at 328 feet. That also translates into 6 Lux at 656 feet.

The company notes this Golight model has a maximum beam distance of 3,113 feet.

Golight points out it has some good experience behind its company name. The company is a supplier for the U.S. military. It also makes products for marine, law enforcement, fire and rescue, industrial, utility and recreational vehicle applications.

Accessories now include a number of new options. An LED insert, snap-on flood lens and a security dome are some of the available accessories.

There are also many other models and capabilities available. One example is the Golight Helios models, which have thermal imaging capabilities.

The Golight models are traditionally on display by exhibitors at the Southern Farm Show including Carolina Rim and Wheel. CRW has stores in Charlotte (phone 704-334-7276), Wilson (phone 252-291-2228), and Fayetteville, N.C., (the name is T&H Brake Service in Fayetteville, phone 910-483-5107).
