Membership in the American Farm Bureau Federation is on the rise according to the organization. In 2005, the group added more than 94,000 family members to its ranks and set a new record for membership at 5.7 million.

As the group gears up for its 2006 annual convention, it reports on its accomplishments for 2005. You can check those out by clicking HERE.

Earlier this month the group issued a report noting that big changes are ahead for agriculture. The study, conducted by the group's Making American Agriculture Productive and Profitable Committee, shows that by 2019 agriculture will change significantly. Larger farms will increase in number as will smaller farms. In addition, mid-sized farm numbers will decrease dramatically. The complete report will be released at the group's annual meeting in Nashville January 8-11, 2006.
