One of the most popular programs available to farmers for more than 40 years is coming up. The deadline for entries to the National Corn Growers Association's National Corn Yield Contest is Aug. 1. Entries must be postmarked or submitted online no later than that date. State and national contest winners will be recognized in various publications and at the National Awards Banquet and State Awards Breakfast at the 2010 Commodity Classic in California. Those interested can enter online at www.ncga.com/corn-yield-contest.

NCGA notes grower participation in the contest benefits the entire industry - as the information gathered is utilized to study production trends. NCGA and others use grower information to demonstrate the production efficiencies of corn growers and their dedication to soil and nutrient conservation.
