Deere and Hillco Team Up for Biomass Harvest

Cob collection system aims for single-pass, seamless operation at harvest.

Published on: Sep 8, 2010

With biomass for energy uppermost in many minds, John Deere and Hillco Technologies, Inc., have teamed up to produce a cob collecting system that fits into corn harvest with as little disruption as possible.

The system provides the flexibility to use either a combine-pulled cart, or a tractor-pulled cart, depending upon field conditions and the farming operation.

The Hillco system gives growers push-button control for turning on and off cob collection; quick and easy changeovers between crops; variable cleaning technology; and a rugged, easy-to-dump collection cart. In addition the system uses existing equipment and minimizes the impact on normal harvesting operations.

The Hillco system is approved by Deere for use on its 9670, 9770 and 9870 STS Combines.

Hillco Technologies, Inc. has developed this cob collection system for John Deeres STS Combine lineup.
