Midwest Dairy Association is playing a key role in events during the Deanna Rose Farmstead Dairy Day in Overland Park, Kan. Dairy Day takes place Saturday, June 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It was created to celebrate June Dairy Month, as well as educate visitors about the dairy industry.
Through Midwest Dairy Association, information on dairy farming, dairy foods, dairy cows and healthy living choices will be distributed. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in activities to help them understand the importance of dairy products in their everyday lives and how milk travels from the farm to the table.
"Sophia," the organization’s simulated milking cow, will be on hand at the event to give visitors the opportunity of experience the milking process.
