Nebraska wheat growers in 2012 planted more Settle CL wheat than any other variety. According to the Nebraska Crop Improvement Association, Settler CL was the top-selling wheat seed sold last year, with 15.39% of the certified seed sales reported to NCIA.

Settler CL was released primarily for its adaption to dryland wheat production systems in Nebraska, says Royce Schaneman, Nebraska Wheat Board executive director. On average, this wheat's plant height is 29 inches and it is moderately late in maturity  and has moderate straw strength.

It can be used as a component of the BASF Clearfield production system, 

Overland was the second highest wheat variety sold in Nebraska in 2012, with 12.36% of the certified seed sales. Overland also is a hard red winter, semi-dwarf variety with mature plant height about 33 inches. It is moderately late in maturity, Schaneman adds.

Tam 111 was third highest wheat variety sold in Nebraska in terms of seed sales. It had 9.41% of the seed sales, according NCIA.

Tam 111 is a tall, hard red winter semi-dwarf what with good drought tolerance. It is a medium-maturing variety with good straw strength, and it is stripe rust tolerant. It was developed, produced and marketed under the AgriPro brand.
